Technical Quality Assurance

  • Check all site pages on all screen sizes + devices
  • Theme Builder vs in-page per-page Divi Builder — use the Theme Builder / Global Modules whenever possible (e.g. custom post type page templates, post templates, etc.)
  • Module Admin Labels — review for intuitive user/client/support experience
  • Images — no larger than 2000px and/or 400KB, renamed, not “AdobeStock_948.jpg”, and add titles and alt text — https://tinyurl.com/4bj3kh7c
  • Divi Library — if in use, keep it organized in categories and easy to understand; delete any old/used/test items
  • Favicon — ensure it’s setup via Appearance > Customize > General Settings > Site Identity > 512 × 512 PNG
  • Heading tags — page title as h1, the rest on the page can be h2 or h3-h4 as long as it’s done correctly — https://tinyurl.com/7hn3ftcd
  • Gravity Forms — ensure they have proper mapping for the From name, Reply To, etc. (and that certain fields are required; such as Email field) — and that Confirmation messages make sense for the form
  • Gravity Forms — ensure the reCAPTCHA v3 keys have been added
  • Popup Maker (if in use) — target each popup to the page(s) that it will appear on
  • CSS — do not hard code global text sizes (use Divi present style feature instead)
  • Plugins — add plugin notes with your initials, remove unused plugins, add paid plugins to the “paid plugin license tracking” Sheet, update all plugins, themes, and WordPress; and review on frontend to ensure the site isn’t broken
  • Check for console errors & make sure any custom snippets target only where needed
  • Is the 404 page created?
  • Are build files within the client folder in Google Drive?
  • Check video use — if too long add to Vimeo instead
  • Google Maps — was a multi-pin Google Map used or other mapping functionality? If so check to make sure there is a new Google API Key created and added
  • Check if Global Presets were used
